Primary sources for the Civil War may be found in the GILFind catalog by using the advanced search feature and searching on the keywords of "Civil War" and "diaries (or letters, or memoirs), and either Augusta or Georgia. Also, we have the microfilm for the Augusta Chronicle for that time period. We also have a collection of letters on microfilm called the Cumming Letters that have some letters written to a prominent family member from Augusta from her son who was captured during the Civil War. Also on microfilm are the Augusta Arsenal papers that include details about daily activities at the Arsenal during the war period. Be sure to check the Special Collections LibGuide for a detailed finding aid to these collections at http://guides.aug.edu/.
